Dear future mentor,

we are so happy that you would like to support us and the young participants at the Digitale Welten Festival: Urban Creators Hackathon. As a mentor, you will work with us from October 21 to 23, 2024 as part of the three-day hackathon process. Together we will develop an interactive and walk-in exhibition, which we will then build at lightning speed. If you can also help us with this, please let us know in the registration form.

To work as a mentor, you need an extended police clearance certificate.

We think the certificate of good conduct is important for several reasons:
As a recognized provider of child and youth welfare services, we are legally obliged under § 72a SGB VII to obtain this for volunteers. In addition, protecting participants from (sexualized) violence is extremely important to us. We hope that this measure will deter potential perpetrators. The extended certificate of good conduct only lists offenses that are relevant to child and youth work. We are not informed about other aspects. You can find out how to apply for the certificate and share it with us securely in the email you receive from us after registering.

Our mandatory mentor briefing will take place online via BigBlueButton about 2-3 weeks before the event. Two alternative dates are offered. All information will follow soon by e-mail. The same thing happens on both dates - you can decide which one you want to come to.

The hackathon runs from October 21 to 23. The exhibition opening is on the evening of October 25th.
